Considering changing blog title to *target addict*

I'm afraid to tell the world that I am posting yet again on Target :-x Not only do I need to enroll in a Target AA, but an Organization AA. A certain someone walked into my kitchen today and saw (below) and said "Are those ALL for you?!?" I think he's worried.. ha. The green /light blue/ dark blue buckets are from Dollar Tree and going to be used at students own book boxes. I am going to put a label on each with their name, number in the class, and title like "______'s Book Box" although probably more creative than that; I will post them when I make them! As for the yellow, green, blue, red stack of baskets, these were $2.50 each in the Target dollar spot. I wish they'd been a dollar, but still compared to Really Good Stuff- Lakeshore-Oriental Trading, they were a great price so I bought out the store! I am going to use these for the class library. I also bought out the store with the next set of colorful bins. I'm not sure what to use these for though.... ideas? maybe manipulative? Hmm.

My other target treasures included pocket charts, "gems" for when they have good behavior the whole week- they can choose a gem to hot glue to their pencil/tool boxes. I found 75 packs in the dollar section, and these can get pricey at Michaels/ JoAnnes, what a steal :). I also found little pom balls, plain colored and sparkly... I'm sure I'll come up with some project for them! Any ideas!?

*AND I found the $1 dry erase boards :) I bought 60! 30 for myself and 30 for a team mate*

OH! I also found magnetic letters and numbers! I was giddy about these for a center :) I am planning on buying a magnetic board like this (below) when I venture out to the Lakeshore store in August.

I wish I could go sooner, but my school is still under construction until Aug 12!! Yikes. I will be running around to try and cute up my room for a few weeks straight!

Thanks, Megan, for your reply! I can't wait to go to the stores you recommended! Yes, I will definitely be stopping into a Target after seeing everything you got! Wish we had great stores like that here in Toronto! Btw, I have that stand up magnetic board from Lakeshore - and I LOVE it! I have actually made a whole bunch of sight words, pictures, etc. and printed them on magnetic paper I bought at Staples for the kids to use. If you buy the stand up chart, there is a fantastic item that I use with it from Lakeshore called Magnetic Language Centers (Item LL310X). It's a must! Let me know if you want me to e-mail you my magnetic printables.

Thanks again! Glad to have made a "teacher blogger" friend!

I totally went to Target the other day and I did not see anything teacher-y!!! I guess I will have to just visit Target obsessively.... how unfortunate..... :)

I love shopping at Target too! The sparkly pompoms we use in our classroom for "warm fuzzies". We glue three to a clothespin. Then when a child is doing something really great for another student, we slip it to their shirt. During the day, other teachers & students will see this and recognize that student for their attitude towards others. warm fuzzies...

Oh I love the warm fuzzy idea, thanks!!

Lucky you! The only things available here in Southern CA are gradebooks and lesson plan books. =(

Gotta love Target's dollar aisle, don't you? :-) One of my favorite places to hit at back to school time!

Oh my gosh-I totally understand where you're coming from. I LOVE Target! I don't think I have ever been able to walk past their dollar section without buying something for my classroom. It is easy to spend so much money in that dollar section! Keep posting any deals you find-I hope my Target gets some of that stuff in soon!

Honestly I am not here to cause trouble with the hubby but did you see the dotted number stamps?
The mini alphabet stamps were pretty adorable too.
I bought the containers but I am not so sure what for (LOL) but you know how that goes...
I spent $60 and I need to go back for... not sure

Love those red baskets from Target.. I will have to go get some thank you. I know the feeling about wanting to get in your classroom. I am moving classrooms this year and can't get in until the end of Aug to set it up. Good luck in your first year of teaching! If you need anything let me know.
